Terms of use.

Last updated

The agreement between you and us when you use Lyrictake. We've tried to keep it as clear as the app. If anything is unclear, write to us.

Scope and provider

Lyrictake is a web app that turns songs into lyric videos. It is provided by LL Platforms UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Wuhlestraße 7a, 12683 Berlin, Germany, registered at Amtsgericht Hamburg, HRB 200065 (“we”, “us”). You'll find all our details in the imprint.

These terms apply to your use of the Lyrictake website and app, whether you use it as a consumer or for a business, such as a label or a management. Where something applies only to consumers or only to businesses, we say so. If you use Lyrictake for a business, your own terms and conditions don't apply, even if we don't object to them.

You buy plans from Paddle, which sells them as merchant of record. For the purchase, Paddle's terms apply as well; see section 6, “Plans, prices and payment”.

The app isn't open yet. Until it is, you can visit the website and join the waitlist, which is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

Your account

  • You create an account with Google or with your email address; we then sign you in with a link, without a password. When you create your account, you accept these terms, and a contract for the use of Lyrictake comes into being between you and us.
  • You must be at least 16 years old. If you're under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian to buy a plan.
  • When you create your account, you confirm that the songs, lyrics and covers you upload are yours, or that you have the rights to use them for lyric videos.
  • Keep access to your account safe: your Google account or your email inbox is the key to it. If you think someone else is using your account, tell us straight away.
  • An account is for one person. On the Label plan, the account holder can invite team members and is responsible for how they use the account.
  • If you create an account for a business, you confirm that you may act for it.

The contract language is English. We store the version of these terms you agreed to; the current version is always on this page, where you can save or print it.

What Lyrictake does

You upload a song (WAV or MP3), its cover and its lyrics. Our servers analyse the song: they separate the vocals and use speech-to-text to time every word of your lyrics. You choose a look, check and adjust the video in the editor, whose live preview runs in your browser, and export. Our servers then render your video files, and you download them.

What a release includes, such as its formats, clips and resolution, is described on our pricing page at the time you buy. The preview is free: you can see your song in every look, with a watermark and without downloads.

The automatic timing is good, but not perfect. Please check the words and the timing in the editor before you export; that's what the editor and the free fixes are for.

Your content and your rights

Your content stays yours

“Your content” means the songs, lyrics, covers and anything else you upload. You keep all rights to it. We don't acquire any ownership of it.

The licence we need

To provide Lyrictake, you grant us a simple (non-exclusive), worldwide, royalty-free right, for as long as your content is in your account, to store, copy and analyse it (including separating the vocals and speech-to-text), to adapt it as your video needs, for example by cropping your cover or setting your lyrics in a look, to render it, and to make it available to you and, on a Label plan, to your team. Our providers may do this for us (see the privacy policy).

We use this right only to provide Lyrictake to you. We don't publish your content, don't use it for marketing, don't use it to train AI models and don't pass it on to anyone else. If we'd like to show one of your videos as an example, we'll ask you first. The right ends when you delete the content or your account; copies in our backups are deleted in their normal cycle.

Your videos are yours to use

You may use the videos you export for any purpose, without limits in time or place: publish them, distribute them, use them commercially and monetise them, for example on YouTube. They carry no watermark and no Lyrictake branding. This right stays with you after your plan or your account ends.

The looks, the software and our designs remain ours. Your right covers them as part of your videos, but you may not take the looks out of your videos to use or sell them as templates or effects. Previews with a watermark are only for viewing in the app.

Rights of others

Your video contains your music. Whether you may publish it can also depend on co-writers, producers, your label, publisher or distributor, and on the platforms' rules, such as Content ID on YouTube. Clearing this is up to you.

What you may upload

Only upload content that you own or have the necessary rights to, including samples, features, licensed beats, cover art and photos, and the consent of the people who appear in them. Check the terms of beat leases and sample licences: some don't allow videos.

You may not use Lyrictake:

  • for content that infringes other people's rights, such as copyright, trademarks or personality rights,
  • for illegal content, in particular content that incites hatred or violence, or that depicts the sexual abuse of children,
  • to get around limits, watermarks or payment, or to access the service automatically, for example with bots or scrapers,
  • to attack or overload our systems, or to reverse engineer the software beyond what the law allows,
  • to resell access to Lyrictake or pass it on to others.

If you break these rules, we may remove the content concerned, block exports, or suspend or end your account. We'll act in proportion, take your legitimate interests into account and tell you why, unless the law doesn't allow it.

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or because you've broken these terms, you indemnify us against it, including reasonable costs of legal defence, insofar as you're responsible for the breach. We'll tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in the defence.

Reporting content

If you believe content on Lyrictake is illegal or infringes your rights, tell us at help@lyrictake.com, with where it is and why. We'll look at it promptly and carefully and let you know what we've decided.

Plans, prices and payment

  • Preview is free.
  • Single is a one-time purchase of one release.
  • Artist and Label are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly, that include a number of releases each month. You can buy extra releases on top.

What each plan includes and costs is shown on our pricing page and at checkout when you buy.

Paddle is the seller

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: Paddle.com Market Limited, and its sister companies for buyers in the USA and Canada, as named at checkout and on your invoice. Your purchase contract is with Paddle. Paddle takes your payment, charges the VAT or sales tax for your country, sends your receipts, provides customer service for payments and handles returns. For the purchase, Paddle's buyer terms apply; for your use of Lyrictake, these terms apply.

Paddle shows you the final price, including taxes, before you pay. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.

Founding Artists

The first 500 people to confirm their place on the waitlist get the Artist plan for $19 a month instead of $29, if they sign up with the same email address. The price holds for as long as they keep the plan. If you cancel and come back later, the regular price applies.

Price changes

We may change our prices for new purchases at any time. We'll only change the price of a running subscription with your consent: we'll ask you in good time before your next billing period, and if you don't agree, your plan ends at the end of the current period.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your plan at any time in Settings, under Plan and billing, or with an email to help@lyrictake.com. It then runs until the end of the period you've paid for, and you can use it and its releases until then. Releases you haven't used by then expire with the plan. Your account stays, and so do your songs and the files you've exported, for the rest of their 90 days.

If you're a consumer and a yearly plan has renewed after its first year, you can cancel it at any time with one month's notice.

Right of withdrawal

If you're a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. As Paddle is the seller, you withdraw from Paddle; you can also tell us, and we pass it on. When you export a release, we ask you to agree that we deliver it right away and to confirm that you know your right of withdrawal then ends for that purchase (§ 356(5) BGB).

Refunds

Within 14 days of a purchase, you get your money back in full, for any reason, as long as you haven't exported a release from it. After an export, the release has been delivered, and the money stays paid, unless the law gives you a right to it back or something went wrong on our side. The details are in our refund policy. Paddle pays out every refund; write to us or to Paddle.

Your statutory rights in case of defects in digital products (§§ 327 ff. BGB) apply in full: if Lyrictake doesn't work as described, you can ask us to fix it, and if that fails, reduce the price or end the contract.

Releases, fixes and files

  • A release is one song, exported in every format your plan includes. It counts as used when you first export it. Previews don't count.
  • Unused releases on the Artist and Label plans keep for three months and then expire. Extra releases you buy on top keep for three months as well.
  • Free fixes. For 30 days after an export, you can change the words and the timing as often as you like and export again, at no extra cost and without using another release. A different song is a new release. After the 30 days, exporting the release again uses a new release.
  • Your files stay downloadable in Exports for 90 days after the export and are then deleted from our servers. The release stays in your account, so you can export it again. Please download your files and keep your own copies: Lyrictake is not an archive.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Lyrictake available and fast, but we can't promise that it will always run without interruption. Maintenance, updates, and faults at our providers or on the internet that are beyond our control can interrupt it. We plan maintenance for quiet times where we can, and announce longer maintenance in advance. How long an analysis or a render takes depends on the song and on how busy our servers are.

We keep developing Lyrictake. We may change, add or retire features and looks where there's a valid reason, such as technical progress, security, new legal requirements or changes at our providers, as long as what you've paid for stays available in substance and at no extra cost. If a change affects your use more than slightly, we'll tell you in good time beforehand, and if you're a consumer, you can then end the contract free of charge (§ 327r BGB). We may change or end the free preview at any time.

Liability

We're liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we've given a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect.

For slight negligence, we're only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation: an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely. Our liability is then limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for this kind of contract. Otherwise, we're not liable for slight negligence.

If data is lost through slight negligence, we're only liable for the effort it would take to restore it from copies you would reasonably keep. Please keep your own copies of your songs and of the files you download.

These limits also apply to our employees, representatives and agents. Your statutory rights as a consumer in case of defects in digital products remain unaffected.

Ending the contract

You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account in Settings. This deletes your songs, lyrics, covers and videos for good and ends your plan, so please download your files first. Whether you get money back for a paid period follows section 7, “Cancellation and refunds”.

We can end the contract with 30 days' notice by email, and a paid plan at the earliest at the end of the period you've paid for. We can end it without notice for good cause, for example if you seriously or repeatedly infringe other people's rights or break these terms, upload illegal content or attack our systems. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first. If we end a paid plan without you being at fault, we refund the part of the price for the time you can no longer use.

After the contract ends, we delete your data as described in our privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when there's a valid reason, such as new features, changes in the law or in court decisions, or changes at our providers, and the change is reasonable for you. We'll email you the changes at least six weeks before they're meant to apply and ask you to accept them. If you don't, you can end the contract free of charge before they apply, and we may end it then, too. We won't change what a plan includes or costs without your consent.

Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you're a consumer, this choice of law doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually live.

If you're a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, or if you have no general place of jurisdiction in Germany or another EU country, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Hamburg.

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remain valid; the statutory provisions take the place of the invalid one.

Dispute resolution

We're neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) under the German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (VSBG).

The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform was shut down on 20 July 2025, so there is no longer a link to it here.

If something goes wrong, write to us first. We'll do our best to find a solution with you.
